the power of imagination

"findings indicate that our "peripersonal space" (the space around our body) can be extended into a space where an imagined posture would take us."

a 2009 study in Psychological Science suggests that perhaps we really do have the power of mind over matter. psychologists Christopher Davoli and Richard Abrams from Washington University led the study.

the yoga lesson here?  there's actually 3!

  1. rather than saying you can't or that you're not flexible or strong enough to do a pose - imagine yourself where you want to be in the pose.
  2. then have patience and persistence my grasshoppas, with time it will come and in the meantime - who cares?  honestly, it's just a pose - a way to position your body - so embrace where you are at in the present moment rather than judging the shoulda, coulda, woulda.
  3. finally, stick with it (read: don't cut out of class during the hard part for a bathroom break - you know who you are...)!

And they'll keep on doing that, because they thoroughly intend for you to keep jumping through hoops to keep your
privacy, in the hope you eventually give up and relent, so they can maximize your monetary value to them.-Apple iPod Accessories online
