the superpowers of yogawoman (video) + reader question of the week

check out this trailer for the new documentary called yogawoman that chronicles yoga through the ages and how yoga is changing the lives of woman around the world.

yoga is something for everyone, but not necessarily the same thing for everyone. so if that hypothesis is true, what is yoga to you?

the official reader question of the week:  what is yoga to you?
please post your response in the comments section below.  remember sharing is caring.
feeling shy?  ok, i'll go first, the first comment is what yoga is to me.

yoga to me is balance - figuratively and literally. i used to be an uber klutz who overworked everything to the point of burning out. through my yoga practice i learn each time i step on the mat to be ok in my own skin, regardless of what life throws my way.

now with that said, i'm not perfect, but my yoga practice has helped me to be aware - observe rather than judge - where i am in each moment. i now am more comfortable venturing into uncharted waters as well as knowing when to back off, even when i know that i have 'muscled' through was lies ahead of me before.

basically, yoga helps me be better to my body and in my body. when you are better inside, you are better outside and then you can start to share that with others.

as a yoga teacher, i hope to bring that awareness and ok-ness to my students. to learn to laugh and find lightness on and off the mat even when it becomes challenging.

[ok, now it's your turn to share. spill it below.]
