today, while my doctor was listening to my heart rate, she asked, "do you run?"
to which i replied, "no, i yoga."
she marveled at how low my blood pressure and resting heart rate were, mentioning she had only seen numbers this low in runners.
(for active folks, a lower resting heart rate is a sign of good heart health!)
the yoga lesson: yoga is just as good as cardio/running is for your heart health without the impact on the joints that so many runners experience and often suffer from.
