oh my darlin' clementine

clementines, the lil cousins of the orange, are in season (and usually on sale), making them the perfect holiday treat (often nicknamed, 'christmas oranges')!  add some vitamin c (to fight the common cold) and a some natural sweetness to the dessert tray (without the refined sugar this season) with a box of clementines!  if you have fruit-lovers on your list, just slap a bow on a box of clementines (that's how they come at the grocery store) and you're all set!

here's why i love me some clementines:

• they are small and easy to peel, making them even a great snack when you're on the go!
• you can enjoy the juicy fruit without worrying about avoiding seeds (they are almost always seedless) because sometimes they can really be the pits...
• they are yummy alone or in a salad
• you can skip the multi-v, these lil guys are packed with vitamin C, potassium, thiamin, and niacin.

WE LOVE clementines at our house - especially for little hands to use to make fresh juice in the reamer. Super fruit for helping when we have colds - sweeter than a regular orange too (navels are our second fave!)
